My grandfather's family:

David Grierson Macdougal 1855, Dumfries m Sarah Edgar White
Thomas Macdougal 1825, Dumfries m Susan Dickie
Thomas Macdougal 1787, Dumfries m mary Baxter Underwood

I think the family came from Ruthwell, and at least one of the above was a blacksmith.

David Grierson was a chemist and moved to Kilmarnock where my grandfather, John Macdougal was born.
They later moved to Hull. I cannot find any record of the deaths of David Grierson Macdougal or his wife.

Can anyone make any connections with their families?
