Jessie MacDonald of Isle of Tralee
Hi. I need help here! My great grandmother was Jessie MacDonald, who married Robert Clark. They had Sarah,Maggie and Ellen(Nellie), sons Robert, Jack, Hector and Willie. Robert (born in Forfen? Shire Scotland) had a brother Hugie who lived for a few years in Priceville Ontario and died there in the winter about 1904. This is the only date I have.
The letter to my mother states that Jessie was born in the Isle of Tralee. I can't find an Isle of Tralee, let alone my great grandmother! The letter says Jessie was Highland Scot and Robert was Lowland Scot, whatever that means! :-)
I think Sarah Clark, who at age 27 or 28 wed Adam Tisdale Jan. 1 or 2 1906 in Glen Eden Ontario or Normanby Ontario, was born in Canada, but not sure and don't know anything about the rest of the children except that my mother had a cousin Lucy who married a Halliday and lived in Ontario. (According to my mother's notes, they were married Jan. 1 in Glen Eden: marriage records differ and don't make sense according to where they both lived.) Nellie could speak Gaelic and interpreted for her grandother MacDonald who could not speak English.
I realize this is very skimpy information, but it's all I've got. Any help in finding Jessie's background -- or even the Isle of Tralee -- would be greatly appreciated!
