Hello,

My Macdonald ancestors started here in New Jersey. My g-great-grandfather is Thomas Eastburn Macdonald (born 1829), his father is Richard Macdonald (born about 1803), his father was George Macdonald, a prominent lawyer in Somerville, NJ and his father was Major Richard Macdonald, a veteran of the Revolutionary War.

I've questioned whether we have any connection to Daniel Macdonald, one of the first Macdonalds in colonial America and who is first heard of in New Jersey between 1730 and 1749.

Any information about this branch of the is much appreciated. I found all of my information in the most comprehensive Field Family geneaogy book (published in the early 1900s).

All assistance is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Mac Eaton
