My grandfather, Roderick Macdonald was born in Rosskeen in 1899 and lived between Dingwall and Strathpeffer. His father was James, born in 1866 in Rosskeen Parish, and his mother was Jessie Mc Culloch. James was Groundskeeper of Fodderty Manor House, Rosskeen. His father was Roderick, also born and died in Rosskeen Parish. My grandfather had three siblings: Donald, Anne, and Alexander Hugh John, also known as Alastair. My grandfather emigrated to Canada with all his siblings, mother and father in the early 20's. They later settled in Detroit.
