Searching for information on the ancestry of Jean McDonall, who died in St. Eustache, Quebec (near Montreal), February 23, 1799. PRDH indicates he died suddenly at the age of 62, and that he was involved in the potash business. Evidence indicates he might have been the same person as Jean-Baptiste McDonald, who married Amable Baudoin at Terrebonne on March 22, 1774. That couple was residing in St. Eustache as of 15 August 1794, when their daughter Marie Marguerite was baptized. The baptismal record spells his surname MacDonald. Amable Baudoin died at the age of 100 in 1830, according to PRDH, which identifies her as the widow of JOHN McDONALD.
Thanks,
Ron Bachman
