Posted by: Ben MacDonald (ID *****9808) Date: January 02, 2005 at 07:03:57

The 1910 Kingston MA census shows a John MacDonald, farmer, born abt. 1866 in Nova Scotia

Wife Margaret, born in Rhode Island

2 sons, both born in Massachusetts
Chalmers (14)
William S (11)

It also lists an Uncle, Randall MacDonald, age 78, born in Nova Scotia, living with this family

The census indicates John came to America in 1884 and Uncle Randall in 1860

If you have any information on this family, I would like to hear from you.

I am looking for a John Chalmers MacDonald, born in Sept 1866 in Nova Scotia

His father Alexander, brought the family to Providence abt 1884, but died in 1886.

The remaining family remained in the Rhode island/Massachusetts area

Sister, Annie Sarah (Hamilton) is buried in Plymouth MA
Brother Charles Harris lived in Bristol and worked as a carpenter in a shipyard

John is known to have had another full brother, William Sommerville born in Aug 1875 who was living in Providence in 1900. William Sommerville MacDonald registered for the draft in 1917-18 Providence at age 43

John also had an Uncle Ranald (also known as Ronald or Randall) who was born in 1829 in NS
