My MacDonald' came to Nova Scotia in 1791 on the ship "Dunkeld" to Pictou. They settled at Back Settlement Bailey's Brook, later called Ardness. John MacDonald,The soldier,after Culloden, fought in Wolf's army in Louisbourg and Quebec in 1959. After the fall of Quebec, he returned to Scotland and raised a family. In 1791, John, with his wife and grown family came to Nova Scotia.
