hello cliff,
i do not know anything about the wisconsin line other than the reference in o'hart who is notoriously inaccurate.
all I do know is that some of the maccarthy-reagh family went to france from spring house in county tipperary in the 1600sand eventually married into the o'byrne family near Albi owners of chateau Gery.
about ten years ago I met madame o'byrne in her wonderful [if slightly delapidated] castle and saw pictures of her late husbands maccarthy-reagh ancestorsand she told me the main line was extinct.
Nobody here in Ireland has made claim to the name in any published source I know about.
My great great-grandmother was the sole surviving member of my branch [the Downeen branch of the Muskerry family decended fromthe yuongest son of the eleventh lord of muskerry ]and her son took the name so I am a MacCarthy in the female line and not much help to the DNA project.
keith maccarhty-morrogh
