I am trying to trace my gg grandparents who were from Limerick. Unfortunately, I have very little to go on, simply an extract from their son's marriage in 1885 which states:
Joannis (McCarthy) and Maria Mulcahy -----Limerick.
The rest is pure speculation and as such is open for comment/suggestions.
Assuming their son (as marrying in 1885) was 21-23 then he would have been born 1860-1865. His birthplace is listed as Clonmel and as such John and Mary (from Limerick) were in Clonmel at the time of his birth circa 1860, having moved from Limerick. On the basis that he was, say (speculation), their second child then they are likely to have been married 1855-60 (possibly in Limerick) and this puts a date of their respective births as 1830-40 (Hope the Maths is correct!)
I would therefore appreciate anyone having any info on a marriage of John (Joannis) McCarthy to a Mary (Maria) Mulcahy in Limerick circa 1855 -60? or a birth of a John (etc) McCarthy or Maria Mulcahy in Limerick 1830-1840.
Not much (if anything to go on) but I would appreciate any feedback (even corrections to the dates, etc.).
Thanks for any assistance
