About the McNeills of Cushendun and Ballycastle
Lachlan McNeill m(1) Mary McNeill of Colonsay. He m. (2) Margaret McAllister and had 8 sons and three daus. It is said that at least four of his sons settled in Northern Ireland.
Neil Bui settled in Antrim c. 1676 and married Rose Stewart of Ballintoy, sister of Alice Stewart, who was married to Alexander Macaulay.
Neil Bui and Rose Stewart had issue:
1. Lachlan m. Jane Ismay MacNaghten of Benvarden, dau of John MacNaghten and Helen Stafford. From this line would descend the Chief of Clan MacNaghten.

4. Daniel (Donald?) m. 1712 Margaret, dau of John McLean, Preb. of Rashakin and Annabelle McNeill with issue:

Edmund McNeill m. 1851 Mary Millar, dau of Alexander Millar and Jane McNeile. They had ten children but only three survived until maturity:

2. Mary m. Walter Hobhouse, son of Rt Rev Edmund Hobhouse
About the McNeills of Glencloy
McNeill m. a Stewart w/ issue.

(1) Dr Charles McAuley m. Mary O'Neill
(1) Rosetta m. Archibald McNeill, her cousin
Also, in this family the following other marriages took place: James McNeill m. Eliza McAllister and their e.d. m. Francis McAuley
