Samuel and Marg (Elliot) Macaulay
I'm searching for Samuel Macaulay and his wife Marg, (maiden name Marg Elliot). They had a son, Andrew Macaulay, that was bon in Scotland in 1839 and lived in New York for many years. I can't seem to find Andrew in any records prior to an 1880 census in New York, even though census records have shown that he came to the U.S. around 1869. Andrew's mother, Marg, was a witness at his wedding in New York in 1882 to Johanna Dohrmann, however, I can't find any other trace of Marg ever living in New York. I'm not sure if Andrew came to the U.S. alone, with his mother, or with both parents. I have hit a huge brick wall in my research and am at a loss. I can't seem to find Andrew or either of his parents in immigration records, either. I'm hoping that someone here might have some info or advice for a stuck fellow genealogist.
Thanks for reading!
