Alice Jane Oliphant Macaulay born 1859 died 12th May 1893, three days after the death of her husband Alexander Chivas. She was the great granddaughter of the Town Clerk.Her father was James Macaulay, tax collector, son of John Macaulay 1776-1835 Procurator Fiscal for Dunbartonshire and Janet Allison.Her brother John Drummond Macaulay 1860-1892 died in Edinburgh unmarried.
