Bartholomew MacArthur/ Richard Arthur CT 1700's

Bartholomew MacArthur was born in Ireland (possibly of Scottish descent as part of the Ulster plantation of Northern Ireland) but died in Groton, CT in 1781. He is also supposed to have served in the Revolutionary Army. I have gotten this from other family tree members but have found no documentation about Bartholomew and would love to find some.

His son, Richard, also served and is supposed to have been wounded during the War. Richard dropped the Mac off of the family name. Richard was born in Preston Township, New London CT 30 Sept 1749. I have found him in later censuses. He died in Westfield, Mass.

Any information about these MacArthurs/ Arthurs would be appreciated.
