Allen MacArthur, son of Daniel and Jeannette MacArthur, who was born July 6, 1793. He married Elizabeth McDaniel in North Carolina. This family was living in Crawford County, GA in 1860. By 1860, Allen was dead and Elizabeth was the head of household. They relocated to Texas (I believe in Leon County, either in Marquez or Palestine) in 1869. My direct ancestor was Elizabeth MacArthur Jackson (m. Ebenezer William Jackson), who stayed in Georgia.
Elizabeth McDaniel MacArthur died in Texas. I am wondering what happened to the rest of the MacArthur family who removed to Texas.
The children of Allen MacArthur include:
2 i. Sarah McArthur was born 1826 and died 24 FEB 1905. She married John Williams ABT 1845. He was born ABT 1820. She married Frank M. Amos ABT 1850. He was born ABT 1825. They had no children together, but she had one daughter with John Williams - name unknown to me
3 ii. Jennette McArthur was born 1827 in North Carolina?, and died ABT 1883.
4 iii. Isabella McArthur was born 1829 and married Francis Marion Amos (same man as listed married to Sarah - second wife to FM Amos - no children)
5 iv. Duncan McArthur was born 1830
6 v. Elizabeth McArthur was born 1832 Georgia, and died NOV 1909. She married Ebb Jackson. He was born ABT 1830. (this is my line, I have descendancy here for a few generations)
7 vi. Mary "Polly" McArthur was born 1833, and died 18 APR 1910.
8 vii. Daniel McArthur was born 1835 and died in Texas.
9 viii. Harriet E. McArthur was born 1837.
10 ix. Charles A. McArthur was born 1839 11 x. Caroline "Carrie" B. McArthur was born 1843
Allen is buried at Society Hill Baptist Church in Crawford Co. GA. I believe one of the children is buried there with him.
I would be most interested to hear what happened to the rest of the family.
