Thanks for responding. I wonder if we are speaking of the same William Richards. My William lived until 1836 (not 1820) when he died in Fayette Co. AL.
William had three sons by his first wife, who I just learned was Amey Mabry: James, John, and Willis. I am descended from Willis.
William's second wife was Nancy Mercer. I don't know much about his second family, since they are not in my direct line. But I believe their children were Martin, Amy, George, Sarah, Elizabeth, Annis, and Nancy. I'm not aware of a son, William.
If we are talking about the same family, please email me and we can arrange to speak by phone.
