Nancy C. HUMPHREYS married Z. A. MABRY in Morgan Co. Alabama in 1856. They had three children; Sabrina E b.1857, Martha J. b. 1859, and Aquilla F. b. 1868.
Judy, I am a descendent of Sabrina Mabry, b 29 Jun 1857 in Winston Co AL. She died 29 Jun 1946 in Aransas Pass, San Patricio County Texas. She was daughter of Nancy Humphreys and Zimariah “Zimri” A. Mabry. Nancy and Zimri were married 23 Oct 1856. Sabrina's full name was Melisia Sabrina Evergreen Mabry and she married 27 Jan 1875 to William “Will” Jasper Harper, b 18 Aug 1862 Murray Co GA; died 24 Nov 1930 Neuces County Texas. I am descended from their 3rd child, William Lafayette “Fate” Harper, who was my grandfather.
I don’t have much detail on the parents of Nancy Humphreys. I show her father to be James Humphries/Humphreys, b abt 1797 Isle of Wright, VA. Her mother’s name was Sabrina (maiden name unknown), b 23 Oct 1810.
Zimariah Mabry (CSA) was killed 31 May 1862 at the Battle of the Seven Pines, VA.
A small correction, Nancy’s child Aquilla F. was born after the death of Zimariah, so she was probably the daughter of Nancy’s second husband, Peter James Rutledge.
