Thank you for the reply. Always glad to get any info. on elusive Mabrays (all spellings). I don't know if Don Collins mentioned to you that he also thinks there's a possibility of David Mabray coming from the Tenn. area. Of course, this is just a guess as no one knows for sure. How can a sheriff be so hard to trace? I'm kinda going with your hunch too that Joseph and David were related. The Rusk Co. TX link is too tooooooo coincidental. Will continue to search and hopefully come to a successful conclusion soon.
