Hi Patricia,

There are seven men named Abraham Mabie/Mabee/Maibe living in Southern NY during the Revolutionary time period. Five are known to be descended from Pieter Casparszen van Naerden.

I have not identified the family of the sixth Abraham Mabee who was a tailor in Cortlandt Manor. He bought some land from Pelatiah Hawes in Dutchess County and sold it at a loss in 1775. Do you have any data on him?

I have not located proof of the family of the seventh Abraham Maybee, a Philipstown carpenter who, died intestate (Letter of Administration dated 5/30/1798 granted to Ebenezer Cole of Philipstown). It is suspected that he may be a son of Peter4 Mabie b.1731 d.1817 (Abraham3, Caspar Pieterszen2, Pieter Casparszen1 van Naerden) and possibly the father of Lebbius.

Abraham5 Mabie/Maybee (Pieter Pieterse4, Pieter3, Caspar Pieterszen2, Pieter Casparszen1 van Naerden) was a blacksmith captured by British at Fort Montgomery. Pieter's son, Abraham5 Mabie, was born 1/24/1747-48 in Tappan, NY, and died 6/17/1832 in Adolphustown, Upper Canada. He married (1) Geeritje Hogenkamp 1773. He married (2) Ann Ackerman 1781 in Tappan Dutch Reformed Church. He became a British messenger, spy, & agent of Maj.Andre. He became a Loyalist Captain.

For more about Pieter's son Abraham Mabie see: users/m/a/y/Fred-C-Maybee/GENE2-0001.html

I am searching for documentation to prove the children of Abraham4 Mabie/Mabee (Jeremias3, Caspar Pieterszen2 Mabie, Pieter Casparszen1 van Naerden) born 1732. Jeremias' son Abraham4 Mabie is a different person from Pieter's son Abraham5 Mabie/Maybee.
