Many Hawkins County families moved to White County, TN before 1850. It is possible that David Mabe of White County was one of them. In fact, I think that he was living next to an individual in 1860 know to be from Hawkins County. However, the 1850 Hawkins County David Mabe does not match up with him. We will have to look at him some more. My gut feeling is that the 1850 Hawkins County David Mabe was a brother of Reuben. Why do you think that Reuben Mabe enlisted for the War of 1812 in Hyde County (Germantown)? Also, the Cherrys seems to be concentrated in Pitt County eastward. If I remember correctly, there was a line of Mabes living in the Bertie, Halifax, Northhampton County area.
