Am looking for info on Count DeGrasse Hastings born 1784 in Worcester Co., son of Caleb Hastings. My special interest is his first marriage. He later went to New York & married Lovinia Conklin, likely in the early 1820's. He was married prior to that to an unknown person. The 1820 census shows him in Schoharie Co. N.Y. with 2 sons more than 10 years old. I'm looking for the father of my ancestor Henry Hastings born 1806. Henry sometimes listed his birthplace as Massachusetts, other times New Hampshire. Both the Count & Henry died in Oswego Co. N.Y. They also shared the same occupation, furniture maker. The Count had several brothers in Worcester Co., but they all married to late to be Henry's father. Henry's daughter, Priscila Hastings Fuller, moved to Decatur Co. Iowa where a relative Lewis Hastings lived. The exact relationship is unknown. Lewis was born Dec. 1813 in Worcester Co, son of Naaman Hastings. Naaman & the Count were brothers.
