Hello..

Can any one tell me where to look for records of the Police in Boston 1820-1860?

My husband's gggrandfather John Walker Baxter was born in Boston, October 4, 1796.

He was for more than 20 years Captain of Police in Boston and for forty years a member of the force.

I am wondering if there is a book on the Police in Boston with photos of the various groups???...hoping maybe there might be one with John W. Baxter ??? Wishing even more, a short biography on him??? He married Mary Milne in Boston, Massachusettsat at the Second Baptist Church December 10, 1820.
