My family has reason to believe that my great great uncle emigrated to USA somewhen shortly after 1855. His name was Carl Arvid Oscar Dandanell, born 1832-11-22 in Stockholm. Around 1855 he was a printers apprentice. The last records of him that I have found is a mention in the 1856 Stockholm census, after which he disappears. There is a possible emigration record for a Oskar Dandanell, 52 years old, travelling from Stockholm, Sweden 1884-06-13 with destination Boston. (I have asked the Massachusetts Archives, Boston to see if they can find any arrival records for him.) I have found mentioned an Oscar Dandanell (born abt 1831) mentioned in the 1860 Plymouth, MA census, a Chas. O. Dandanell (born abt 1833) mentioned in the Brockton, Plymouth, MA 1870 and 1880 census. Through 'familysearch.org' I have found out that Chas. O. Dandanell was living in the household of Thomas A. Dean, was a shoemaker and was widowed. If the person in the US Census is identical to my great grandmothers (only surviving) brother I would be very interested to get as much information about him as possible. The marriage would have taken place in MA - (Brockton?) Who was his wife? Did he have any children? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
