Thank you so very much for the inforamtion!!! I had been told about the 1850 census and only recently found out that they are in East Bridge Water in 1860. He is listed as what looks like J B instead of J P Reed. However the wife and children are correct so I am convinced it is my John Porter. He is listed as a bootmaker. There is a David Brown wife Mary who could be her parents plus a David M Brown who could be a brother perhaps.

I was not aware of the library and the available information. Could you please send me the address and phone number for the library? I would love to contact them to see what I may be able to find.
