GILLESPIE in Brockton between 1870 & 1975
William & John GILLESPIE, brothers born in Ireland 1840s are on 1880 census at Bridgewater State Farm as overseers. A younger brother, Farnham joined them shortly thereafter.
John & Farnham owned a coal/wood business in Brockton for many years and their sons continued in the business. Farnham's younger son, Nahum is on 1930 census as a coal merchant. Nahum died in 1975.
This family had farmed in the West Bridgewater area with a residence on Prospect street near Elm (where Nahum was when he died).
I do not know the surnames of the wives but William married Alice (children Mary & Charles), John married Mary (children Marjorie & William), Farnham married Helen (children Wilfred & Nahum).
Any additional information about this family would be greatly appreciated.
