Dear Sue never in a million years would I have found this, they have them listed under the name of Steamer which is supposed to be Shenker sometimes spelled Shanker I don't understand that spelling because I never saw that mispelled that way on any other records but that is them all right because Lilly was my mother's mother and Samuel her father and there was an Uncle Izzy (Isadore) and I know there was a Harry in the family too someone may not have understood as they spoke Yiddish and maybe it sounded like Steamer wow!! Yes, that was my mother and yes she was born on 48 North Russell street in Boston. This is amazing!!!!! How can I thank you? Well now that you have found my mother as a baby (I have been searching for that for 7 years and have not found her till now) now that you were somehow able to do this I need one more very important thing if you can do so and it is regarding the 40 census...I just need to find me as a baby and my mother and my 2 sisters together which we should have been on the 40 census unless some were in a boarding school ( I was when I was 4) All I know is that when I was a baby born Jan 13 1939 we lived on Centennial Ave in Revere near the beach I don't remember any other address except Shirley ave but that was after the 40 census I know I was at least 4 years old on shirley ave. The names of the others were my sisters, Lillian and Eleanor and my mother of course, Ethel, and me, Sandra. lill was born 1931 and Eleanor was born 1933 ( I changed my first name to Hannah in 2006) I just can't go anywhere with my computer, Sue, I have windows 98 and IE 6 and it just won't let me go anywhere hardly without updating and I cannot afford to if you could find all of us together in Revere (even if there was some other address I'm not aware of -we were in Revere) One thing I do remember being told my mother went' to stay with her sister Bessie (also on that record you sent me and Bessie was her half sister as Samuel was married before and only my mother and her twin, Edward, were born from Lilly and Samuel. But I was told my father (I was the illegitamate one) was abusive and she took me as a baby to get away from him for a time and Bessie lived in the West end of Boston I believe. So we might have been there during that 40 census but if we were it was for a short time as we were in Revere when I was just a baby. Eleanor said she remembers being on Centennial av when I was 3 months old. I know I was born in Malden MA at I think Maplewood Hosp? And in 1939 my mother (and our last names) would have been Cohen. Thanks a million Hannah Notify Administrator about this message?
