Hi Patricia,
Thanks so much for all the information! I did have the Miami County Vital Records information on my to-do list but had went ahead and made several postings on GenForum. I will certainly try to get death record and hopefully an obituary about him. I will also contact the Genealogy Society to see how they might be able to help me out. A road trip can always be much fun, too!
I had done a cemetery search, but it was through the Tombstone Project and I had not come up with anything from that. Thanks for the cemetery link as well! There are some other folks buried there that may be decendents as well.
I appreciate you advice on the military records. I went on the National Archives site last night and I ended up on information overload so I decided to save it for another day. I will take your advice and see what I can get from the information you shared regarding the military records.
I do so appreciate the time you have taken to share all this information with me. Obviously, I am a novice at genealogy research and I find myself following a line of information that leads me jumping all over the place. I have much to learn.....
