Hello Iwan, you could start by putting in browser
people.yahoo.com
then put as a last name Lombardi.
If you have no idea what state or city just leave all blank
you will get many Lombardi's.
I would suggest you copy down the phone number, addresses and or email addresses if available.
It could be expensive I know as you are in the Netherlands.
But you could get post cards and simply send a short message telling the people who you are looking for.
Meanwhile I will see what I can do here, I can't afford to call anyone but I will just see if I can help in some way.

Was he born in the States or Netherlands or Europe?
Are you searching relatives in the States?
Was he American serving overseas?
Did he die in the war?
If American I wonder why he wasn't sent home?
If American you have no idea where he was born?
Also, that cemetery should have info on his relatives can you contact them as they may still have records?
Can you tell me the name of the cemetery and where exactly located?
