She was born Nov 26, 1869, Fall River, Bristol, MA to Charles and Emma F. Heaven Knows What. She is indexed as Rasseler, which may give you some idea of the quality of the handwriting. The name Emma looks like Prunnu, but she's Emma in the census. I would guess that the last name is Gray, but that is merely a guess founded on a difficult to justify faith that this is not simply the scribbling of a chimpanzee.

I am guessing that the father's birthplace is Clinton , CT. What looks like an O I think is the C connected to the L. The I and N are probably the three little bumps that come before what looks like an L, but is probably a T with the cross part far to the right over the O which looks like a dotted I. The N is pretty clearly an N--it just looks like a V.

The mother's birthplace is written quite clearly a P2uv Rd, which I feel is probably Providence, RI.

The person who entered all this was a government official whose job was to transcribe important records that would be available for posterity.
