Thank you very much for the reply. The Murphy family is part of the family
that I don't know much about. My initial information came from my mother
(who is now dead) and my two aunts (one of which is still alive). These
three ladies are the granddaughters ofMargaret Murphy O'Connell, older
sister to Mary Ann Murphy McCarthy.I have several pictures of her.
My mother and her sisters new very well Julia, Nell, and Katie Murphy. They
used to go visit them in Essex when they were children.
The oldest of the three told me stories of your family - the Mcarthy's.She
knew Richard, Gertrude, Edith, and I think Alice. In fact she gave
Richard's phone number (though Inever called) and a new artilce on the
dedication of a school in the honor of Edith.
From your info I would assume we are the same generation.I am 47 years
old.
I would love to trade info.I think you have much more than I do.I knew
there were four other children (from the 1900 census) but never knew there
names.I also never new any deaths at all for anyone except a round figure
of between 1900 and 1910 for Mary Ann (again based on the censuses).
I have copies of the following information:
1880 census of Patrick and Margaret Murphy
1900 census of Patrick and Margaret Murphy
1910 census of Patrick and Margaret Murphy
Death Records for Margaret and Dennis O'Connell
Birth Record for Mary Ann
Birth Record for Katie
Birth Record for John James
Birth Record for Julia
I would be very interested in any other information and very very interested
in what you know about the Murphy's in Ireland.
Hope to here from you soon.
