I am trying to tie this lind down. It has been several years in coming. but think I might have hit on it. My grandfather, John (Jack) Boss, was born in Liverpool Englang. He died in Seattle Washington. On his Death certificate it lists his father as John Boss anfd his mother as Mary Ellen O'Brien.On the federal 1910 census for Whitehall, Washington, New York, my grandfather state his father was born in Massachusetts and his mother in England. I have finally found what I think might be his father. On some World Trees, I finmd a John Boss, born in 1844 in Marbleshead, Essex, Massachusetts to a Crawford Duncan Boss and Mary Ann Byrnes. The time fits9 my grandfather was born in Liverpool in about 1877), also there are a few itewms that link that family line to Sea going and ships.
My questions are.
Is this the right connection?
What resources are available (online) for research?
Does any of this sound familiar?
