He shows up in the Massachusetts State Archives as:
Joseph DeMontigny
Death registered in Fall River 1901
Volume 516 page 209

You can request a copy from the Archives.
The Fall River Public Library may have newspapers on microfilm that contain the obituary.
Check their website to see if they do look-ups.
