Edward L:ytle (1771-1846), PA-OH-IN, re: 1st wife
Hi all,
I think I have found Edward Lytle's unknown first wife though some proof is lacking. Maybe someone out there may have some clues. First, Leonard Lytle's book makes mention that Edward's wife may have been a Luken since he named a child Lukens Lytle and the connection of his sister Rachel marrying Gabriel Luken.
The 1800 census for Fermanagh Twp., Mifflin Co., PA lists Abraham Luken (1734-1806) and his sons Gabriel and Abraham Jr. Also in the same township is Edward Lytle, son of Robert Lytle. In the will of Abraham Luken dated 1806 he mentions his daughter Susan Lyttle. Susan was a sister of Gabriel Luken who married Rachel Lytle, Edward's sister. Susan is who I believe is Edward's first wife. There is only circumstancial evidence at the moment, and there are no other possible husbands to found for Susan.
Does anyone have any othr clues that may prove or disprove this? Susan was the great granddaughter of Jan Lucken one of the first 13 families who founded Germantown, PA in 1683. Any help would be much appreciated.
