Luke Lytle and Margaret Johnson
I am looking for the parents and siblings of Edward Price Lytle, spelled Lightle on his Civil War records.
Edward married Mary Abigail Smith 15 April, 1866 in Johnson Co., MO.
Edward b. 04 March, 1841 d. 09 Aug., 1907 Johnson Co., MO
possibly born Cole or Clay Co., MO
Mary b. 18 April, 1849 McMinn Co., TN
d. 02 April, 1917 Johnson C., MO
Both buried Fickas (Fiskas) Cem. in Warrensburg, MO as Lytle.
Also in this cemetery:
Margaret Lightle d. 19 April, 1873 at 65 yrs.
( possibly Margaret Johnson, Edward's mother ? )
Margaret Johnson married Luke Lytle 16 Aug., 1838 in Cole Co., MO by Martin D. Noland, J.P.
Their is a Margaret Lytle living with her dau. Harriet Wood and her husband James Wood on the 1870 census Johnson Co., MO. Could be her but not sure.. Their is a Luke Lytle on the 1850 census Lafayette Co., MO.
Possible clue:
Edward Lightle ( Lytle ) enlisted Co. G 7th Reg't. Cav. S. M. Vols. under Captain Foster on 19 March, 1862 in Warrensburg, MO.
Mustered in: 21 April, 1862 Georgetown, MO
Mustered out: 20 April, 1865
Also enlisting from same place:
Perry C. Lightle and Pinkney Lightle. Both enlisted Warrensburg, MO and musteres in/out same dates as Edward.
Could they be Edwards brothers or some other relation?
Have not found any information about Pinkney Lightle. However, I have a copy of Perry C. Lightle's death certificate. His mother is Margaret Johnson b. KY and his father _____ Lightle b. Ireland.
Perry b. 15 April, 1843 Clay Co., MO
d. 07 May, 1910 Kansas City, MO from pnuemonia
Buried Forest Hill Cem. He was a stone mason.
Would greatly appreciate any information concerning any of the people above. Will begin checking immigration records next for Luke Lytle/Lightle.
Thanks, Jim Bradshaw
