James Lyon b. 1778 NY d. 1835 TX m.Martha? (Lyon)
I am looking for any information prior to 1778 Ny for James Lyon.I have found Prisoner records from Jacobite prisoneer tranport ship of a William Lyon on the Elizabeth and Ann, which sailed on 28 July 1716 from Liverpool bound to Jamaica and Virginia.I have also found a Philip Lyons jacobite transported as a prisoner on the Wakefield ship Bound for S.C on 21 April 1716.My theory is James Lyon may be a decendant of one of these two men.If anyone has any info, could you let me know.James' Parents are unknown, wifes madian name is unknown, but she was born in Mass.I do not have a county for James birth, but it might be Bedford, NY.I was told the court house was burnt down, and all records were lost. The only reported fire around the time would have occured during the Revolutionary War, which Bedford reported a fire in town
Thank you
Charron
