Dorothy Lyons Shanahan, formerly of Oak Park and St. Petersburg, FL.
A Funeral Mass for Dorothy Lyons Shanahan, age 87, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22 at Mayslake Village Chapel, 1801 35th Street, Oak Brook, IL 60523. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. at Mayslake Village. Interment immediately following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Born Nov. 6, 1918 in Chicago, the daughter of Patrick and Mary Lyons, she passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at DuPage Convalescent Center, Wheaton. Dorothy is survived by her children, Dennis Jr., Molly (William) Schuster, Raymond (Kathie) and Tom (Jennifer) Shanahan; her loving grandchildren, Patrick, Christopher, Eric, Eve and Colleen Shanahan, Casey Shanahan, Tina and Jessica Hernandez and Corey Shanahan; and one great-granddaughter, Cadence Shanahan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Shanahan; parents; brother, Leroy; and sisters, Helen Power and Marjorie Hickey.
