What I read defined Lyons as the anglicization of a more ancient Gaelic name. Actually it could be one of two old Irish names, but I don't have the book here with me (I'm at work), and I'm not going to even attempt to spell the Gaelic without them! <s> It's related to Lynes, Lehane, and even Lane, from what I read.

I can get the title of the book I took this from when I go home tonight, if you like.

You wouldn't have a Cornelius and Annie among your ancestors, would you?
