PA Leave a Will? by W.L.Lynn of 2499 The Pennsylvania Gradual Abolition Act of 1780 allowed slaves born after that date their freedom at the age of 28 years. Slaves born prior to that date were slaves for life. This suggests that Jupiter, Doll, Foge, Ned,, Reuben and Nace were all slaves for life unless their owners freed them.
