His father probably Edward, captain 1st reg. east India company d.1818, brother of Elizabeth. Their parents Phoebe and Edmund Lyne. Family intermarried with Pooles - have Charles (married to Lucy Garlick Lyne?) and Harry and Percy (sons?). Sons of John Garlic: John, William and Thomas (sent to Canada).
