Hi, thanks for replying.Hugh Lynd was my grandfather and his elder brothr called Jack (John). The only John and Hugh Lynd, of the same family, that I can find are in a Garvagh church visitation list of 1795 but this is in isolation as I can't fill in the interim generations.Thomas Lynd my great grandfather lived in Moneyquiggy. He was a farmer. His appoximate date of birth is 1843 according to a Pensear,(Pension document) of 1908.The information comes from the 1851 census details (Thomas aged 8 years). His father named as Hugh and mother Rachel married in 1842.My father Reginald Lynd was told by his dad Hugh that our Lynd family originally came from France but don't know when. That would explain the eldest son being named John ( Jack) atradition in both France and England at one time.I have also set up a database of any Lynds I have found in my searching, none of which I can link to my family. All are in NI,christenings, marriages, communions and church visitation lists.
Thanks Sue
