Wow any information that you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. I got as far as 1901 thanks to the online census. I know Sinon has to have siblings but had no way of finding out who. Atleast from America. I know when I was a child my gram (her mom was Sarah Lynch who came to America in 1920 and stayed with an aunt named sarah fitzgerald in Jersey city, she died giving birth to my gram), that there were still relatives over there in the area. My own goal is to find them (my grandfather had accidentally threw out all her letters and addresses). Here is what I have been able to figure out.
In 1901 Sinon Lynch (60/61) and his wife Margaret (59), They were Roman Catholic and could not read He was a farmer and she a house keeper. They could speak both Irish and English. They lived in house 68 or 69 in Shragh with their Son James who was 28 and his wife Mary who was 24. Mary was the only one who could both read and write. James is listed as an Agricultural Laborer.
In 1911 they now live in House 4 and James and Mary have children. Sinon's wife Margaret is no longer living as she is not listed on the census. James and Mary list only english as their lang (in 1901 they knew irish too).
The Children are Sarah Lynch (my great Gram) listed as 9 yo and a student. Mary Lynch 6 yo and a student, Catherine Lynch 4 yo, and Maragaret Lynch listed as 1.
In 1920 My Grt Gram Sarah Lynch came to america and stayed with her Aunt MRs Sarah Fitzgerals who lived at 225 Gill St in Jersey City. She eventually married a Williams and had 3 girls. May, Alice and Sarah (sally my gram, she died giving birth).
At some point there was a tombstone erected by a John Lynch said to be the son of James and Mary, for James and Mary at Doonbeg cemetary. There is also a Margaret Lynch buried there who died in Dec of 1975 which I suspect in my Grt Grams little sister.
That is all I have gotten so far. I think it is a good possibilities that our lines are releated not just because of the area but the family names as well. I would love to hear any info you have. I have no parents or Siblings on Sinon and no Siblings on James either. Being Irish familys I am sure there were some. Also I suspect James wife Mary must have came from money being as though she could read and write. Thanks and cant wait for your reply
Jen
