Hello, I am new to this forum. I am descended from George (1748-1821) and Margaret (Peggy) McCorkle Lynch. Specifically, through their son, William (the triplet) (1786-?). I have my info from my great-uncle Walter Monroe Lynch's book, The Lynch Family, dtd 1 Apr 1940. George and Peggy had 12 children. The book details the line from George, thru William (triplet), John D. Lynch, etc, but does not have much details of the other 11 siblings.
The book says George was born in Scotland, but I am also hearing Ireland (Ulster) is more likely - Any thoughts from anyone?
Also, any info on George's Father and Mother and siblings in Ireland (or Scotland?) ??
I am looking for any info on the other 11 siblings of William (the triplet). And any other info you may be able to share.
The list of twelve children of George and Margaret Peggy McCorkle Lynch that I have:
1. John, 1770 - ??? (Born at sea?) I saw another ref showing this John was born in Ulster, Ireland (Northern Ireland?) prior to emigration with his parents.
2. Hugh, 1772 - ???
3. Matthew, 1773 - ???
4. Robert, 1775 - ???
5. George (Jr. ?), 1777 - ???
6. Elizabeth, 1779 - ???
7. Rachel, 16 July 1781 - ???
8. James, 10 March 1783 - ???
9. William (triplet), 4 June 1786 - ???
10. Catherine (triplet), 4 June 1786 - ???
11. Rebecca (triplet), 4 June 1786 - ???
12. Samuel, 1790 - ???
I also found the PA Archives page on-line, showing George Lynch being a 3d Corporal in the Lancaster Co., Militia during the Revolutionary War.
