Lynch is definitely an Irish surname. The question becomes when did they emigrate, and what what were the names of the emigrants? You will likely find these answers in the U.S. censuses and/or naturalization papers. I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparce B4 1840, rare B4 1800. Without a known county, the chance that your ancestors are in this database is AT LEAST 35%. For John Lynch B ???? in the database, I found 2,670 B rcds dating from 1705 and 1,134 M rcds dating from 1716. For Charles Lynch B ???? ditto, I found 150 B rcds dating from 1750 and 78 M rcds dating from 1754. Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg. Hope this helps. Good luck. Notify Administrator about this message?
