I'd like to be introduced to anyone who might give me a hint about the parentage of Capt. William Lynch of Pittslyvania Co.
As I have no clue who his parents nor siblings were, I follow most of the leads I can.
As to the Gillespies, I descend from John Gillespie 1753-1822, who is said to have been born in VA, via Lancaster, PA. All I have is his family down, no clue about siblings there either. I do know he moved to Western NC, raised a family, made rifles and died.
I know from deeds that William Lynch was in Pittsylvania Co. VA in 1790. I think, at best, Samuel b 1790 would be a cousin or nephew, as William had children born ca 1790. William removed to SC in 1793, where he died in 1820.
I appreciate any and all help, as in researching the Lynch family, I've run across many William Lynch's, also John and Charles. I think it was a law to name a Lynch son one of the above names.
