Here is the link to the page in the website of the Coventry Cemetery for Samuel Lyman's tombstone story. The burials are also listed on this website.

As for Elizabeth Fowler, I was not aware that was still a problem, but then I haven't been paying attention for several years either.

From "The History and Desc. of John and Sarah (Backus) Reynolds of Saybrook, Lyme, and Norwich, CT 1655-1928" by Marion H. Reynolds, A.B. is the following entry on page 13 for their children:
#6. Elizabeth b. November, 1666; was living 1702; m.1, Jonathan Fowler; 2, ---Lyman, before 1702.
On page 18 Jonathan Fowler (1650-June 10, 1696) is called alias Smith. (Aside from me: the record actually reads 'the smith'). They were married in Norwich, Aug. 3, 1687. He was the son of Captain William and Mary (Tapp) Fowler of Milford. Elizabeth was still a widow in 1698 (see Vital Records of Norwich, p.37,43 (aside from me: pg 37 is the marriage, pg 43 is the marriage and a list of the Fowler childrens' birth dates); History of Norwich, p. 230). Only the Fowler children are listed of which nothing further is known.

However, in "Gen. of the Lyman Family in Great Britian and America" by Coleman on page 57 is Samuel m. Elizabeth Fowler May 9, 1699. Which puts the marriage very nicely after the last time she was refered to as widow in 1698 and the birth of the first Lyman child on May 22, 1700.

It seems to me that if Samuel and Elizabeth (Fowler) Lyman lived in Lebanon, CT and had children there that the Fowler children probably went there to live with their mother. Rootsweb has both Elizabeth Fowler and her brother Jonathan Fowler having children in Lebanon, Jonathan is also in Coventry which is right next door. Another source says that brother Joseph was a deputy in Lebanon before moving to East Haddam in 1763. No children of his own but raised brother Jonathan's son Joseph.

If there is something about Samuel Lyman and Elizabeth Fowler's marriage that I have missed please let me know as I thought it was cleared up.
