There is another excellent book on the Lyman Family compiled by Lucretia Lyman Ranney in 1959 and bound by Hiller Bookbinding of Salt Lake City, Utah. This book was a private printing for the Utah Lyman and Partridge Families with a limited number of copies. I have one copy, but I'm confident that the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City has at least one copy. It contains rather interesting background information on Richard I and his direct descendants down to my GG Gfather, Amasa Mason Lyman who had eight wives, three of whom were daughters of my GG Gfather, Edward Partridge. I would be happy to share what information I have, and I am eager to obtain further ancestry back to the 900's or whatever. Lucretia only mentions Thomas Lyman (Md. Elizabeth Lambert of Navistoke, Essex, England who died there in 1509).
I use the PAF 3.0 Personal Ancestry File program available from the LDS Church Distribution Center in Salt Lake City which is very user-friendly and gives me a disc backup capability.
