I am searching for information on the Lyman family also.
My great grandfather, Charles Augustus Lyman, was a lighthouse keeper in Boston harbour. He was married to Jessie Mae Cox from Shubenacadie, NS, Canada. They adopted my grandmother, Edna Mae Lyman, born May 12, 1908, when she was aprox 3 mths old. I am also searching for her birth mother. My grandmother believes her birth mother brought her from Cape Breton, NS or somewhere in Nfld. We think her birth mother might have married a Thomas Getherall of Charleston Massachusetts. I know that someone related to a Bill McPhee, possibly a sister, had gone to the Lymans when my grandmother was 14 to request she be taken to visit her birth mother. Nana Lyman denied this request.
I've been told that Charles Augustus Lyman was left with the Pratt family to be raised, but not much was known about his parents.
Charles and Jessie had a son, Charles Henry Lyman, sometime after they adopted my grandmother, I think.
Charles Henry Lyman married Isabelle (?) and they had 2 daughters, Virginia and Judy. Virginia married (?) and had 2 boys (?). Virginia died (?)
Judy is married to Ken MacDonald or McDonald. They have 2 sons, Ken and Joe. Ken and Judy live in New Hampshire.
Are any of these names familiar?
