My mother was Lois Lyman Fletcher, the daughter of Louis A. Lyman. Mother said that Richard Lyman was Lord Mayor of London. Is there any truth to that?

I also have the Coleman history of the Lyman's and a circle geneology chart back to Richard Lyman of High Onger, England. My line comes through Elias Sr., which goes back to Richard. Louis A. Lyman's father was Austin Elias Lyman, born in South Hampton, MA I think these geneology sites are great.
