To Rob Darlington:
Susan Whitney Lyman, as I learned only last week, was my great-great grandmother. According to my source (familysearch.com), she was born on 29 May 1821, and married Alexander Frederick Sabine at Montreal on 17 May 1842. I have photos of Alexander taken at Philadelphia about 1880.
Their eldest son, Theodore Clement Sabine (b. May 1843, Montreal) was my great grandfather (I have photos of him also). One of his sons was my maternal grandfather, Otto B. Sabine, born in Cleveland OH on 12 October 1882. My mother, Clara Louella Sabine, was born in Cleveland on 3 June 1908. I was born 12 March 1933, also in Cleveland.
I'd be interested to learn more about the Sabine migration to Philadelphia and Cleveland, and about your relationship to Susan Whitney Lyman. Are you and I distant cousins?
