I recently obtained a death notice for my great-great grandfather, John LYDEN, who lived in Homestead, Allegheny Co., PA.
According to the family, he was born in County Galway, Ireland, on 16 May 1866 (the date is from his marriage record). I do not know who his parents were, but his death notice states a single (unhelpful) line that he was survived by his wife and daughter, and "a brother in Boston, Massachusetts," who was not named.
John LYDEN married Margaret "Maggie" MCDONOUGH on 8 May 1895 at St. Mary Magdalene's RC church, Homestead, Allegheny Co., PA, and he died on 11 June 1897 in Homestead, and was buried at St. Mary's cemetery.
They had one daughter, my great-grandmother, Anna Mae LYDEN, who was born on 6 October 1896 in Homestead, PA.
I am hoping that someone with Lyden relatives in Boston might recognize my gg-grandfather and be able to fill in who this brother was (and hopefully extend my family tree back at least another generation).
