The more I delve into my Lycett family the more confused I get.I've just found them in the 1881 census:

Alfred LICHATE widower 59yrs old born Birmingham
Ann M LICHATE 14yrs old born Walsall
Frederick LICHATE 11yrs old born Walsall
Charles LICHATE 6yrs old born Walsall
All living at rear of 6 Red Lion Street, Walsall.

According to Ann Maria's birth certificate Alfred was married to Sarah Ann(nee WILLIAMS)
I note from your postings that your Frederick was about the same age and that his parents were also Alfred and Sarah Ann although I note that her maiden name is different. I have been unable to find my Alfred & Sarah Ann's marriage as yet.

It seems strange that there are 2 Sarah Ann's married to Alfred both with a son Frederick and all living in Walsall at the same time. Is it possible that we are researching the same families? Have you found your family in 1881? Could you send me some of your information, it may help me clarify things.
Thanks Sheila
